How was the Shellac Manicure Procedure Different?
In most of the reviews I've read about not being able to apply Shellac yourself. Honestly it is just polishing your nails. The CND site gives direction and updates on the best practices to the product. It's easy and so incredibly inexpensive to purchase it yourself vs. paying per visit. I am not in the beauty industry...am not typically into the do it yourself but the first time I had it done at my salon as a test case I loved it and I have had excellent luck at home. I purchased it from Amazon. You don't need any tools really but it is important to review the instructions and learn from the CND site what works.
What did You Think of the Shellac Polish?
Depending on what you're doing with your hands I typically get 2-3 weeks per application. It only takes me about 20 minutes total right at my kitchen table. I have even done it for some friends who also ended up purchasing their own. I usually just go with clear look but the best color is Wildfire. I like Romantic but it's somewhat difficult to get solid coverage due to the light color. The first time I had it done in a salon this is the color they used so I know it wasn't just me being a non trained DIYer
Advice
- The best advice I can give is to remember to hydrate your nail beds with something like Q oil especially in the dryer months of winter depending on geography. Also, applying thin layers is very important and never soak your nails in Acetone to remove the product which is quite easy by using a cotton ball with acetone just sitting on your nail for maybe 10 minutes it practically slides off or maybe some use of a wooden nail thingy...honestly I usually use the thumb nail of my other hand.
