Electrolysis Review Part Four

My Fourth Electrolysis Appointment

After the success of my pain relief on my last appointment, I made sure to take my Ibuprofen 30 minutes before I left, and drenched my upper lip in the lidocaine spray that I have. (FYI-The upper lip is much more painful than the chin.) I was certain that I would breeze through this appointment like the last one. I was wrong.

I'm not sure if it was hormones or what that made my third appointment so easy, but I wish I did know because this appointment was just as uncomfortable as my second appointment.

But the good news is that Marge got rid of a lot of hair on my upper lip. She just kept on zapping, and I kept my mouth shut. I thought if she knew that I was in pain, she'd make me take a break, and I didn't want to lose my precious minutes.

I left extremely red on my upper lip. That's a major downfall of electrolysis. I have to leave the clinic and go straight home, so I have to make the appointments in the evenings. After about 2 hours, my lip looked better, but still felt a bit numb.

About 2 days after my treatment, I got a big cold sore on my upper lip, around the same area that I was treated. Coincidence? Maybe. I'll be sure to ask Marge at my next appointment.

I'm hoping that I see less re-growth in the next two weeks, because coming home to an almost hair-free upper lip is more than motivating.

I've gone this far, and I for sure will keep going. Marge says that I'll get used to the pain, and from frequent waxing, I know that's true.

I've also decided that when I'm done with my upper lip and chin, I'm going to have Marge work on my eyebrows. I can see this is going to be addicting!
