The Vanda Orchid Spa Collection consists of four products: a body mist, a shower gel, a dry oil body spray and a body balm. Today I'm reviewing the shower gel and the dry oil body spray.

June Jacobs: Vanda Orchid Shower Gel

June Jacobs: Vanda Orchid Shower Gel is a 7 ounce plastic bottle of a very light yellow shower gel. Currently the retail price is $35. All of the Vanda Orchid products are free from preservatives, parabens (which is simply a preservative) petrochemicals, synthetic dyes, sulfates and fragrances.

From the look of the gel, and the name of the collection, we expected a nice, light floral scent. But actually, this gel is naturally very fragrant. (No synthetic fragrances.) Some of the extracts in this gel are: red, green and white tea, rosemary leaf, orchid flower, goji berry fruit, pomegranate, violet, rose and chamomile.

If you love aromatherapy-like products, you'll love the scent of this product from first sniff. We really thought it was too heavy of a scent right out of the bottle, and we were happy to see that it really mellowed out when in use and the light flower-scent we were hoping for came through.

The lather started instantly, but know that it's a nice delicate lather, not a huge foamy lather.

The Vanda Orchid Dry Oil Spray is a 6.7 ounce plastic bottle with a spray top. The current retail price is $45. The spray top gives a great fine mist. It's suggested to apply this oil to damp skin right after your shower or bath. When we applied the spray, the oil was almost immediately absorbed into our skin. We very much enjoyed the oil, and there wasn't a "greasy" feeling left on our skin at all.

What surprised us the most is, unlike the Vanda Orchid Shower Gel that had a very strong scent, this product had almost no scent at all. And of course, when you're not using a fragrance oil to keep products uniform, this will happen. But we do wish there was a bit of a lingering scent.

June Jacobs: Vanda Orchid Collection - Final Thoughts

The products are definitely high-quality products full of expensive ingredients. Thus the higher price tag. The question is, would we purchase them when they run out?

The general consensus seems to be that the dry oil spray - yes, the shower gel - no. We'd rather spend the money on the ingredients that are going to stay on our skin, as with the dry oil spray.

But most of us are on a budget - you may not be. If you're looking for that line of products that is spa-like, skin-healthy and full of ingredients that will impress, this line is for you.
