My friend and fellow About.com Guide to Baby Clothes, Stacie, recently had a baby girl. She was the perfect candidate to try out California Baby's new products: Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash and Calming Diaper Rash Cream.
She tried them out, shared them with another new mom and is sharing her thoughts.
California Baby: Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash
When first asked what she thought of California Baby: Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash, Stacie's exact quote was, "Loved it!!" She loved the scent and just how gentle it was on her baby's skin.
Before trying the California Baby Products, Stacie was using Johnson & Johnson products on her baby girl. She noticed that these products were giving her baby a rash, so she promptly switched products and after using the California Baby products for just a couple short days, the rash completely cleared up.
Stacie and her husband use cloth diapers and cloth wipes only. They were able to use a few drops of the Calendula diluted with water to make the solution for her wipes before putting them in the warmer. Stacie said her baby's bottom got extra clean during every change! And, as another bonus, if she was dirty from spit-up or whatever, she could grab a cloth wipe and just clean her up. Perfect!
When asking Stacie to come up with at least one con, she said, "The only con I can really point out is the price. For the parent that is looking for the lowest cost per ounce, this is not going to be the product for them. But, it is very concentrated, so you honestly only need a few drops in the bath. Plus, you get what you pay for (in my opinion)."
California Baby: Calming Diaper Rash Cream
Luckily for Stacie and her baby girl, she didn't have the need for California Baby: Calming Diaper Rash Cream, but another mom friend did. Her little guy had a terrible bottom rash due to antibiotics he was on.
She had been using another cream, Butt Paste, but he absolutely couldn't sit because he was in so much pain. Mom started using the sample of California Baby: Calming Diaper Rash Cream, and within a few days, his rash, though not completely gone, was healing enough that baby could sit again, comfortably.
When asked about cons for this product, she couldn't think of a single one.
