Lush: Bath Bombs

If you are a bath taker, you've no doubt tried a bath bomb in your tub before. If not, let me explain what a bath bomb is. A bath bomb is a circle shaped ball that when placed under water fizzes like Alika-seltzer leaving your bath with bubbles, color and many times, an oil to moisturize your skin.

One of Lush's founding items is their bath bombs. According to their website, they currently have 18 bombs to choose from, however new scents come regularly. They all have fun, unique names such as: Champaign Supernova, The Happy Pill and Sex Bomb. Lush's Bath Bombs are unique in the fact that you'll many times be surprised by what comes out of the tub. Your bath could be filled with sparkles or dried flowers to set the mood.

While it seems that people who love Lush's Bath Bombs are no novice to bath bombs, those who are bath bomb newbies are not so sure. There were many reviews of the bombs leaving a "ring around the tub", and one reviewer pointed out the fact that she couldn't relax if she knew she'd be cleaning her tub for an hour after her soak. Others knew what they were in for, but feel the relaxing soak with a fantastic Lush Bomb is worth the extra cleaning, and if you do it right away, you'll have a much easier time. Most people reported softer skin after using a Bath Bomb, but others thought that the price was too much for a single bath. Lush's Bath Bombs are priced between $4.85 and $7.15 a piece; you may want to keep these for special occasions only. It was recommended more than once to cut them into halves or thirds to be frugal.

All About Lush

Lush has actually been making cosmetics since the 70's, under a different name. They started making hand made cosmetics sold under The Body Shop. They then started "Cosmetics to Go" which was a highly successful mail-order cosmetics business which "In a series of unfortunate co-incidences, culminating in a disaster, Cosmetics to Go went under. Lush as we all know it opened their first store in 1994 and currently has over 500 stores across the country.

Lush makes hand made cosmetics in small batches. (Sometimes so fresh it's refrigerated in the stores!) You'll see a sticker on your product that will not only tell you when it was made, when to use it by, but also who made it. It sure takes on a different spin than your typical products that have been sitting on the shelves for who knows how long.

Lush is known for their unique products such as solid shampoo and conditioner, henna hair color and natural solid deodorant bars. Their website not only has hundreds of customer reviews (both good and bad) for each item, they also have a very active customer forum to share the good and bad of the products.
