Seaweed Night Cream - Description
This night cream comes in a 1 oz. white plastic jar with a screw lid. It is a medium green color, has a thick consistency and has a fairly strong perfume scent similar to roses. We found the scent to be pleasant.
Review - Simple: Kind to Skin Night Cream
The cream is not light-weight, it definitely has some substance to it, but this was not a problem. We actually liked the way it felt. The cream is also not greasy or oily. The company recommends this product for combination, dry and sensitive skin.
Once it is rubbed into your skin, the green color disappears (your skin won’t be green). Unlike the Mario Badescu’s Seaweed Cleaning Soap, this product does not contain bits of seaweed (or bits of anything) in it. The name of the cream is a little deceiving because besides the color, there is really nothing about it that would remind you of seaweed.
On the jar, the instructions for use are: “Apply nightly to skin, avoiding eye area.” We noticed a difference in our skin after just one use. The next day, our skin was hydrated really well and felt smooth and supple. We had no irritation, no breakouts, redness or other problems. As we are finding with a lot of Mario Badescu products, a little goes a long way, so only a small amount of the night cream is needed for each application.
At the time of this review, this product sells for about $20.
Seaweed Night Cream - Review
Things We Loved
- Non-irritating: We are always happy when we find a product that doesn’t irritate our skin, and this one did not cause any irritations at all. We had no break-outs, redness, or soreness. It also did not cause our skin to become too greasy or oily.
- Hydrates Well: We noticed a difference after just one application. It hydrated our skin very well and the next day our skin felt great (soft and supple).
- Price: There are so many overpriced, over-hyped night creams out there these days, so we were pleasantly surprised to find the price point for this product was so low. We thought it was definitely worth the $20.

Things We Didn't Love
- Hydrates Too Well: The one slightly negative thing we have to say about this night cream is that every few days, we had to cut back and only use a very small amount of the night cream or skip every other night for a few nights. It’s very powerful with its hydration, so you have to make sure you don’t use too much of the product and start to cut back a little once you realize it may be over-moisturizing your face.
Seaweed Night Cream - Final Thoughts
This is simply a great product! We love the way it hydrated our skin and we loved that it didn’t irritate our face in any way. It has a luxurious soothing spa quality about it, but it also has a drug store price tag. It’s a win, win! It’s not for getting rid of wrinkles, fine lines or giving you the appearance of a face-lift, but we thought it was great at hydrating over night and we were happy with the results.
