FDA Warns Consumers to Throw Away Clarcon Skin Care Products

June 9, 2009 - Clarcon Skin Care Products Voluntarily Recalled Due to Bacterial Contamination

Clarcon Biological Chemistry Laboratory Inc. is voluntarily recalling some of their skin care products, specifically skin sanitizers and skin protectants, because of high levels of disease-causing bacteria found in the product during a recent inspection.

If you have any of the following skin care lines in your collection, the FDA warns that you should not use them, and immediately throw them away.

The products contain high levels of bacteria which can cause skin infections. According the the FDA's press release, these infections may need possible medical or surgical attention.

The list of products and lines involved in this recall include:

  • Citrushield Lotion
  • Dermasentials DermaBarrier
  • Dermassentials by Clarcon Antimicrobial Hand Sanitizer
  • Iron Fist Barrier Hand Treatment
  • Skin Shield Restaurant
  • Skin Shield Industrial
  • Skin Shield Beauty Salon Lotion
  • Total Skin Care Beauty
  • Total Skin Care Work
