Guide Review - Bioelements: Gentle Creme Eye Makeup Remover

Bioelements says their Gentle Creme Eye Makeup Remover is perfect for sensitive eyes and will thoroughly remove all traces of eye makeup and soothe with plant-based botanicals, including marigold.

What I first noticed with this product is its large 4 ounce size in a nice glass bottle, something Bioelements is known for. Being used to eye makeup removers being either liquid or very thin cream, I was intrigued with the thick consistency of Gentle Creme Eye Makeup Remover. The consistency reminded me of my facial cleanser.

Just like a creamy facial cleanser, this product doesn't suds up or bubble at all to remove the makeup. On my first use, I applied a pump to a cotton circle and let it sit on my eyelid for a minute or so, then swiped down. (Read more tips to remove eye makeup) The eye makeup easily came off, leaving nothing behind, however, the product did make my eyes sting like crazy.

Admittedly, my eyes are extremely sensitive to eye makeup removers, and I have yet to find one that doesn't make my eyes sting.

To see if it was just me, I passed the product on to a good friend of mine to use, and her response was all positive. She had no stinging, no makeup left behind and was completely impressed by the product. She felt that the glass bottle made it feel all the more luxurious. And because you needed only one pump to remove the makeup on one eye, she felt the value was completely there and she is planning to replenish the product when it's gone.

A tip that we have when using this product is simply apply it with your fingers instead of a cotton ball. When the remover is liquid, it's nice to soak a cotton ball or circle and rest on your eyes, however, with the thick cream it's easy to gently massage your lashes, removing every last bit of mascara. Remember to always sweep down, because no matter how gentle a product is, if it gets into your eyes, it will cause irritation.
