Guide Review - Vaseline: Clinical Therapy

Vaseline, known for creating affordable products that soothe dry skin, has given us yet another amazing product. Vaseline Clinical Therapy is a prescription strength moisturizer, without the prescription.

Vaseline started their quest of sharing this product with us in a small town in Alaska, where they relied on one woman's word-of-mouth "prescriptions" to her friends and family. It spread like wildfire from person to person. You can see more about their time spent in Alaska, including many interviews and real-life stories on their website.

Vaseline Clinical Therapy is a white lotion that comes in a squeeze bottle. Your two options are "lightly fragranced" and "unfragranced". Some reviewers reported disappointment in the unfragranced lotion, because there is an obvious scent, but it is very, very light. And the lightly fragranced isn't a strong scent at all.

Both lotions are white in color, and while you'd expect them to be heavy due to the intensive hydration, the consistency is surprisingly light. They bottles are squeeze bottles, and while the lotion comes out easily, a pump top would be preferred for easier application.

The lotion soaks into your skin very quickly, unlike thick body butters that you have to wait around to allow time to soak in. I was able to apply it right after my shower and could almost immediately get dressed right after because it was already absorbed.

After the lotion is absorbed, you literally feel a protective hydrating layer on your skin. While some users didn't enjoy this feeling, in my opinion, I loved the fact that my dry skin felt soft and protected from the cold elements. It felt especially nice on my hands, which so often take a beating in the cold months.

This product is great for men and women alike, and has become my family's must-have lotion for winter.
