Palmer's: Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Lotion an alternative for the Skin Therapy Oil we all love so much.
Palmer's: Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Lotion - Description and Directions
Palmer's: Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Lotion is white in color and has a light, creamy consistency. It does not have that familiar Palmer's cocoa-buttery scent. Instead, it has more of a medicinal smell. At the time of this review, its retail price is $7.99 for a 7 oz pump bottle.
Among its ingredients are Vitamin E, pure cocoa butter, oat/soy blend and alpha hydroxy acids and CETESOMATE-E Complex. The lotion is hypoallergenic and paraben-free.
How to Use:
As with any lotion, Palmer's recommends that you apply the lotion liberally and massage into skin.
Palmer's: Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Lotion - Our Review
Things We Love:
- No Irritations: The ingredients in the lotion did not cause any problems with my sensitive skin.
- Moisturizes Well: When used on dry skin areas, the lotion moisturized well.
- Not Greasy: After rubbing the lotion into my skin, that area did not feel greasy at all.
Something We Weren't Crazy About
- Slightly Sticky: After applying the lotion, my skin felt like there was a very thin sticky film on it. It wasn't overwhelming, but it definitely was there.
- The Smell: On the pump it says "fragrance free", but it is definitely not. It has an unpleasing medicinal scent. The scent doesn't stay with you, but you can smell it while applying. And with all of the other Palmer's products smelling so wonderful, it was a bummer to see the change.
Palmer's: Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Lotion - Final Thoughts
I was happy that this lotion didn't irritate my sensitive skin and that it did moisturize any dry areas I had, but there isn't anything about this product that stands out over other drugstore lotions for dry skin. Between the unpleasant smell and the slight stickiness, I would probably grab something else first for dry skin.
