Burt's Bees: Milk & Honey Body Lotion a 99% all natural body lotion that promises 24-hour protection. The lotion is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates and petrochemicals.

Burt's Bees: Milk & Honey Body Lotion - Description

Burt's Bees: Milk & Honey Body Lotion comes in two sizes: 2.5 ounce for $5.00 and 6 ounces for $8.00.

The directions read: Enriched with skin softening milk and naturally nourishing honey, this body lotion is forumlated with botanical moisturizers coconut and grapeseed oils and Vitamin E. Naturally nourishing body lotion leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and healthy, naturally. Apply liberally as needed daily.

The lotion is off-white, creamy in color and has a very light and pleasant honey scent. The lotion takes a little while to fully soak in and despite what the label says, I wouldn't call it "non-greasy". Once it does soak in all the way, however, it really does leave the skin feeling deeply moisturized and protected.

Apparently Burt's Bees changed the formula of this lotion in 2010 and reviews are mixed for this lotion. Because of the budget-friendly price and ease of finding in stores nation-wide, you'll find many reviews on this product. Here are some of the things reviewers noted on Burt's Bees website.

  • It had a nice consistency when I put it on, and I felt like it really hydrated my skin. My skin felt really soft 8 hours later. Would definitely recommend!
  • Bummer on the new formula... Greasy and I do not care for the smell.
  • The consistency is too thick & heavy - it doesn't feel nearly as nice on the skin as the original. I also had to stop using it quickly, as my sensitive skin seemed to be having a reaction to it. The smell isn't as good either.
  • Love the new Milk and Honey lotion - it is thicker so feels even smoother. I already love the original and now there is an even better version.

Burt's Bees: Milk & Honey Body Lotion - Review

Things We Loved:

  • Deep Hydration: This moisturized far better that some of our other lotions we had sitting around our desk. It quickly became the first choice.
  • Light Scent: The light honey scent is nice. Not overly purfumey or heavy.
  • Two Sizes: While we originally started with the bigger bottle, we purchased a handbag-size bottle to keep with us at all times.

What We Didn't Love

  • No Shelf-Life on the Bottle: Do a tiny google search on the shelf life of Burt's Bees products and you'll come up with many people who purchased products only to find they were going bad already. We can not find the shelf life symbol anywhere on the mini-tube of lotion at all. Man natural or nearly all natural products have short life spans and we think they should put that on their products/

Burt's Bees: Milk & Honey Body Lotion - Final Thoughts

We can't comment on the new vs. old formula of Burt's Bees: Milk & Honey Body Lotion, but we can say that this lotion felt great on our skin. Is it a bit greasy? Honestly, yes, but sometimes in the driest of months, a heavy moisturizer isn't such a bad thing. We're writing this review in January, our coldest month. We're loving it right now, but it could very well be too heavy in the summer months. We typically switch our our lotions in the summer anyway, so for us, we're happy!
