Nail polish strips aren't a new thing, but I've had my eye on them for a few months just out of curiosity. I'm wondering if you've tried them.
If you're new to the idea of nail polish strips, let me explain. They are dried strips of polish that you press onto your nail and they apparently stick on, leaving no dry-time or chance of chipping because you bump something. (My huge problem, and the main reason I stick with clear on my fingers.)
I've done some research and read plenty of reviews, and it seems you either fall in the love or hate category, with the bigger percentage in the hate category. One review on the Sephora French Manicure Strips pictured here asked why they come in sheets of 8? "Do I not have 10 fingers?" Good question!
Avon used to sell these, but they are no longer listed on their website. My gut tells me they will be a waste of money, plain and simple. But I wanted to see if anyone had any first hand accounts. Waste of money or ingenious time saving product?

Now I’m curious; I must admit! I’ll report back.
Excellent! Come back and report your results!
I’m curious as well.
How long does this strips last?
One week?
If it is like sticker, than it would require another masterpiece skill of sticking it on your nail to make it appropriate. Otherwise you’ll laugh yourself before anybody else does.
Greetings,
Ahyo
I think they are more like a rub-on. (Maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong.) I think it rubs the polish on your nails from the pressure of you rubbing or pressing on it.
And of course come back and tell me how it went!
You should try some!
The french manicure strips are awesome. I used to buy them from Avon and just recently found that you can get them from Sephora. They are easy to use and last for a few weeks or longer. I have way better results with these than a regular french manicure.
I too can never last more than a day with regular nail polish. I have the Inococo nail polish. It is awesome. i put them on on a monday. Then i cooked and washed dished for thanksgiving. It is now the following monday and my nail polish has lasted with minimal wear at the extreme tip of my nail. They only reason why I need to take them off and redo is because my nails grew over the week and there is a small gap between my skin and the polish. Similar to what occurs when you need a fill on your acrylic nails. First time I have worn red on my nails. Going to do the french manicure for a job interview on friday.
You should give them a try. I have used the ones from Avon, Incoco, and today I applied the Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips and I must say I love them. They last way longer then a regular manicure and remove just as easy plus if your nails are not really long you can get two nails done with one strip.
Love them! They are easy to apply and take about as long as painting my nails but no mess.
I am over 45 (but not 50) and my eyes don’t adjust as well as they used to and I find that when I paint my nails myself I am frustrated and usually feel the results are sloppy.
I tried the ones I am wearing now to hide the fact I need a fill. Previously I have sanded edges and painted but still the ridge is very obvious. The strips hide the ridge much better and is invisible on most of my nails.
I am a convert and looking for a cheaper source, Fred Meyer has them for $10 each, a little steep but, still cheaper than going to my local nail place.
I’m wearing the nail polish strips from sally hansen right now. I’ve had them on for a day and they havent chipped or anything..it was easy to do. And they dont rub polish on..they are just like stickers that cover your whole nail..you file off any extra hanging off and thats pretty easy to
I am also using the Sally Hanson product. They were a lot easier than expected to put on. My nails look professionally done. I have only had them on for one day but so far there has been no “chipping.” I think it is worth it.
I tried the Dry Nail Applique and loved them…..I bought them on sale at a Walgreens for $5…The brand was Incoco. Sad to say that they do not carry these any more. They display another brand that are more expensive and didn’t work as well. The Incoco’s french was the best. I could give myself a manicure in 5 min without smell or needing to wait for them to dry…They lasted longer than regular nail polish though that is what they are. Removal is the same, just use polish remover. The sticker or rub on polish has the shapes and sizes for all nails..slick and nice!
I have used the Sally Hansen Salon Effects. They work great,
easy to apply and wear really well. Less than the price of a salon manicure. They last about 10 days before starting to chip.
I am 79 years old, have never had a professional manicure, I saw these Sally Hansen Salon Gel Strips at my local drugstore, thought I’d try them . I just finished using them and I must say I am very happy with the results ,so far.I will get back to you to tell you of my findings. I have problem nails that are erose, no matter what I do to them they grow funny always have. This Salon Gel covered my nails and did not leave the tips of my nails erose, they look very even and beautiful.
Thank you sincerely,
Bernice
Hi Bernice,
So great that you left a comment. I’m glad you love the gel strips! I sure makes polishing easier, right? Go treat yourself to a manicure, though, OK? You deserve it!
