Skin Care Buzz Word: CoffeeBerry
Perhaps you've been hearing a lot about the antioxidant CoffeeBerry which is popping up in skin care products. If you didn't get a chance to check out the Today Show's feature, "Stress and Your Skin" with Linda Wells, Editor-in-Chief of Allure magazine, you can still watch the online version as of today. (video link)
You'll see that Linda explains how stress affects our skin, and what we can do to combat stress-related skin issues. At the very end of the feature, she was only able to slide in the buzzword: CoffeeBerry.
CoffeeBerry has been shown to have more antioxidants in it than Green Tea, Pomegranate, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. (Loads more!) So, why would you want to use CoffeeBerry? Antioxidants fight off free radicals such as sun, smoke, stress, which all cause the signs of aging we all want to avoid.
Revaleskin has the highest amount of CoffeeBerry currently on the market, and comes from Stiefel Laboratories, well known for their skin care advances. They results they are seeing are amazing results. (visit website) The products are evening out skin tone, reducing fine lines and wrinkles as well as protecting your skin from the elements.
Revaleskin just launched two new products, Intense Recovery Treatment and Eye Therapy. (Revaleskin products are only available though doctor's offices, but there is no prescription needed.) I'm currently giving Revaleskin products a try and will give a full report on my thoughts in a few weeks, but I can already tell you that I am in love with the Intense Recovery Treatment and the Day Cream. They are creamy and amazing.
I will soon be talking with Dermatologist Dr. Jeanine Downie, who is working with Revaleskin about these products and CoffeeBerry. But before my interview, I wanted to see if any of you had specific Revaleskin or CoffeeBerry related questions that you would like me to ask. If so, feel free to post them here or email me at skincare.guide@about.com and I'll include them in my interview. (Obviously I have to limit questions, but I'll try to incorporate everyone's if I can.)

Thanks for the heads up on Coffeeberry.
BUT
Coffeeberry is another name for Jojoba Oil, isn’t it?
According to the University of Arizona
http://ag.arizona.edu/maricopa/garden/html/pubs/1003/jojoba.html
Coffeeberry is just another common name for Jojoba.
Common Name: Jojoba
Latin Name : Simmondsia chinensis
Family : Simmondsiaceae
Other Names: goat nut, deer nut, pignut, wild hazel, quinine nut, coffeeberry, and gray box bush.
So before you spend loads of money on Coffeeberry just go out and get some Jojoba Oil it’s the same thing.
Regards
Lin
Lin,
you for this post, but I think that Jojoba oil and coffeeberry are two different things, even though it shows that jojoba oil is sometimes called coffeeberry.
From what I understand about “Coffeeberry” used in Revaleskin products, it comes from the fruit they collect that is on the same bush that coffee beans come from.
From their website, “Derived from the fruit of the coffee plant (Coffea arabica), CoffeeBerry® extract has one of the highest antioxidant scores ever recorded…”
Confusing that they have the same name though.
Let me know if you find something that I don’t know.
Hi Jen,
I’m an esthetician and have been hand-blending and selling mineral makeup for over 5 years. I mostly do private label products for salons and health food stores. The past two years I’ve been working on my newest formula that contains 1% Coffeeberry Extract and 1% Vitamin C. I’ve noticed a difference in the texture of my skin and at 52 years old I don’t have as many wrinkles as most women my age. Coffeeberry is a powerful antioxidant! We’re living in Florida now, so I’m doing whatever I can to protect my skin from the free radical damage from the sun. Here is some information about my Antioxidant Mineral Makeup ~ www.lucyminerals.com Thanks for informing people about the benefits of coffeeberry.
